192 - (a) The Human Rights Commission’s responsibilities and powers shall include the following: 1. to promote respect for human rights; 2. to promote the protection, development and attainment of human rights; 3. to monitor and assess the observance of human rights. (b) The Human Rights Commission shall have the following functions and powers, as regulated by law: 1. to investigate and to report on the observance of human rights; 2. to take steps to secure appropriate redress where human rights have been violated; 3. to carry out research, and to educate thepublic; 4. to exercise such additional powers and functions prescribed by law.
